Picking varieties
I pick early varieties with a short growing time, like Double Standard (organic). Don't mix varieties in the same planting!
Sowing
Sow in plug trays indoors in May, 3–4 cm deep. Start feeding once the plant is established — no potting-on needed. Plant out when the soil is warm.
Care
Plant in a block, not a row — the pollination works much better.
Harvest & storage
Harvest when the cobs feel full and the silks start to dry.
Tips & lessons learned
In a cold climate this is the whole game: choose one generous, early, fast variety. Just one.
